THE SHADOWS OF EVIL

First published on September 15, 2010

An evil creeps across the face of our planet like a sullen death descending upon a field of blood after a great and mournful battle. It is a strange malignancy that claims to be guided, and rewarded, by powers from above, and yet this beastly apparition shows no more concern for those who follow than who those who stand in the way of its hideous passage. It claims the sanctity of religion yet reaches not for any nobility of spirit.

It disparages all that is uplifting about mankind and grovels unto the dread rites of those who would molest their children and then send them into eternity with cylinders of death strapped to frail bodies. They march gladly toward oblivion, bearing a hatred born of fanaticism that runs unchecked through a twisted, screaming mind. It is Islam, and it brings forth evil once thought locked beyond Vienna. Now it has broken free and springs forth upon the world, and it comes with a vengeance reeking of death.

The inhabitants of this fair planet have grown soft. No more are there Alexanders, or Napoleons, or a Hitler to confront. Three generations have seen sixty years without a worldwide carnage. There are small wars aplenty as blood still flows freely, and this has been the lot of the modern man. War never quite ending yet never quite reaching full bloom, has given comfort to those who would think peace might one day reign. They are mistaken, as the prospects for peace are gloomy, and the ominous prospect of civil wars hangs like a huge black cloud, low on the horizon and fast approaching.

War is the birthplace of weapons yet to be, and in the next war they will be honed to a fine perfection and give birth to bloodbaths yet unseen. Since gunpowder first exploded in the green fields of Europe, we have climbed a ladder of discovery, ever perfecting the killing machines of tomorrow. With such fearful weapons at our command it seemed that we would always be the masters of destiny, and yet today we may fall victim to a woeful scourge from the past.

During the Crusades the mighty warriors of Allah rode forth on horse and camel wielding the keen edged swords of their faith. They claimed victory under a great and noble leader named Saladin. He broke the spirits and spared the lives of the many disarmed Christian, and sent them back to Europe in disarray. Then many Europeans, forsaking Zion, tried building a bridge to the future when mankind would rule, and nature would bow to pay homage before his glory. Thus science was born, and the darkness that had enveloped  Europe for so long came to an end..

Not so with the people of Islam. The words of their prophet prevented their quest for the stars and nurtured the blood lust of the tribe and its wars on other tribes from afar. As Europe climbed, Islam stood firm in their faith, cherishing the hateful words of Mohammed.

War, it seems, is always but an arrow's flight away, and again, the forces of Europe faced Islam in battle as the Ottomans rode forth, severing the heads of fallen rivals. This confrontation was to bring a different outcome than did the Knights of the Crusades, for this war brought a new ally to the Europeans, and that ally was science. Born of curiosity, of wonders yet unknown, and the simple quest for truth, the Europeans had advanced beyond the means of the Muslim world.

Following, as the light of technology lit the darkened shadows of ignorance, they found new ways to fight and new ways to kill. They sprang forth upon the field of battle with a fury that Islam could not repel and so the word of Allah gave way before the mind of man. Again Islam rested and again Islam rebuilt..

For nearly four hundred years the people of Allah have stood their ground, spilling the blood of each other to satisfy their hatred of mankind. During those years they have nurtured and protected the troubled raving of the one they call Prophet. His words were instructive and plentiful. He gave detailed instructions on the size of rocks to use when stoning a woman to death, for real or imagined misdeeds, and he went into exquisite detail on how to remove the arm of a child, who had but committed a childish crime.

The laws he left for Muslims to follow were explicit, and in many cases hideous, but the one that keeps them in awe of the instructions he left behind was his promise. He promised all who would follow that they would rule the world. These, the followers of  Mohammed, believe that it is their destiny to kill, convert, or subjugate all others. They who are certain that it is their duty to bring all of mankind under the rule of the bloodied swords of Islam are now confident that their time of conquest has arrived.

It is odd that here in the twenty first century, when other nations of the world are launching satellites into space and building computers that are rapidly unlocking the mysteries of the universe, that those who face Mecca are still living in an Age of Darkness. It is from that darkened world they come wielding sword against a world of technology. Man, the technical, and man the forgiving,  yields and apologizes before them, stooping low so as to not offend them in their quest for glory..

Many are the years that have passed since I concluded it to be unwise to stoop before anyone with sword in hand. Never, common sense tells me, should you lose your head over the obsessive behavior of another. Yet they ride forth, an apocalyptic horde, worshiping a blood lust born of old and claiming the right to rule the people who worship reason. Never has there been such a mismatched war and yet the weaker of the two sides is advancing unabated.

This is truly the battle between good and evil, and though good be the stronger of the two, evil rides boldly. The vast arsenals of mankind are held in check as our borders are breached and our sensibilities crushed. Weak leaders cower and hear not the fearful and angered voices of those whom they fail to lead. They respond not to the cries of women raped, or to the tears of the families of the slain.

They from their alabaster dwellings hear not the words of those who carry forth a warning. It is not our leaders, but those free men, both wise and bold, who warn their fellow man that a fearful plague now strides among us. They speak of an enemy at the gate who is covering sunlight and bringing darkness, and an enemy who knows not mercy.

The word "Correct" now suffers mutilation, as today it fosters not what is right, but instead spawns weakness and a loss of dignity, as it bars a defense of all that we hold dear. Is it "Correct" to idly stand by as this primitive horde takes our nations? They build not! Knowledge they have forsaken. They respect only the arm that swings the vengeful sword of Islam and we, out of greed, sell them the very weapons that they are using to kill our people.

We open borders to their masses as they destroy, murder, and rape, and we respond with an effort to find dialog. Dialog cannot be reached. Take a portion of fine wine, and a vial of poison. One brings life, the other death. Mix the two and die anyway. We cannot co-exist with Islam among us. An individual here will harm us not, but If we allow their culture access, then ours will cease to exist, and the evil that Mohammed left to the world will reign.

They come not seeking homes, but conquest. They seek not friends but those who will convert. They bring not enlightenment but death. We cannot look upon them as equals or as brothers in spirit, for they are not. They come into the countries of the West as a scourge seeking victims, and they desecrate the civilization we have built. The world is meant for those with the conviction to hold it. Their army comes now to claim all as we meekly tip toe past their mosques, trying not to show conviction or to offend.

We, the civilized, have reached out to them as a "Third World" wanting them to have what they could not build on their own. Their shortfalls become our weakness, as we feel guilt for those who have not, but there is a reason they have not. Long ago an evil man died. He is gone, but the evil he propagated lives on. This growing insanity that blooms in Medina will enlarge and engulf the world if we let it. What becomes of our world and our children's world is our choice to make.

Allow this evil to take root in our nations and one thing can be taken as a certainty. Their hatred of life and knowledge will engulf the Earth and a new Age of Darkness will be ours. Allow this evil to prosper and your daughters will don burqas as a sign of servility, and your sons will hurl stones at those who have dared stray from the path of bondage.

From the desert sands of Medina an evil cries out from the grave, ordering minions on to more conquest. It wants blood to flow freely and heads to roll as the disciples of Hell ride out as a legion, bringing terror and submission to a cowering world. We have the means to destroy all life on the planet but lack the strength to say "No" and so onward they ride. Look around, for they are upon us.

You, the sons and daughters of freedom must unite. Bond together in the name of liberty and expel this evil before it becomes the master, and we the slaves. If you value your life more than your freedom then you will die in bondage. We have but three choices and they are to either bow before this onslaught of hatred, stand as one and destroy it, or once again confine it beyond the gates of Vienna. The choice must be made and it must be made soon.
